Singing and Dancing in the rain

New in from Stampendous and perfect for Valentine's day I've combined their stamp 'Rain Dance' with the Memory Box die 'Splashing Puddles' and now I can't stop humming that darn tune ......I'm singing and dancing in the rain.........

I was looking for a rubber duck stamp in Oysters yesterday but couldn't find one so I got this instead lol !
Because the die is quiet large and busy I kept the colouring very simple and only coloured the dress with my pens and kept the colours to black, white and red with a touch of silver.

April Showers

Morning, bit grey and wet here in Kent so this card seemed appropriate to remind me of the lovely flowers we'll be seeing soon as we head into spring.

This quirky die from the new release for Memory Box was so different it inspired me to make a gate fold card to give you a peep of what follows the rain - so I've used some lovely flowers from Designs by Ryn which I coloured up with my Copics. I continued the rain theme by adding some raindrops with DecoArt Liquid Glass on the flowers.

Thank you for looking and I hope you have a good week x

Somethin' Fishy..........

Well here's something a bit different and a bit fishy!

Not a subject I would normally choose -  I've seen this lovely stamp by Designs by Ryn done a few times but always with a sea coloured background which looks fab, but I like to get variety with my purchases and wanted to see if I could do a clean and simple design with the stamp as a stand alone feature .  I think it works quite well with the colour contrast between black, white and the vibrant yellows and orange. The fish was stamped twice and coloured, with the second image used to decoupage the top and side fins and the tail to give the illusion that the fish is swimming through the frame..... the one that got away ? !

I've used Sea Creatures 2 and Water Effects 2 by Designs by Ryn, both sets have a number of different designs/stamps in them and are available from - Oyster Stamps, Rochester, Kent - Telephone 01634 686823 or Website http://www.oysterstamps.co.uk

Thanks for taking a look.

Here we go with the new challenge from Lavinia for this month - Anything Goes. It's been great fun each month over 2014 to see all your different interpretations of the monthly themes, so looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings!
Each month there is a prize of a £40 voucher to spend in the Lavinia shop AND you don't need a blog to enter (just email in via the website) so why not give it a go.

My samples for this month use different techniques and mediums to create thank you cards , so important to say thank you  for the lovely gifts I was lucky enough to receive at Christmas.

Made using Fairy Pods and Brushos.

Made using Distress , Versamark and Archival Inks with Floral Spray in pink and Fairy Pods in blue. This was designed for putting in the post- it's all done on one layer by masking off sections.

And my final one made using Distress Inks and Group Poppies, Lavender, Seed Pods, Dandelions, Zen Leaf, Secret Night and Ivy.

Don't forget to take a look around the rest of the team's blogs for more inspiration -
