Love Grows

Phew! This was a tricky one!

Jacqui Dennis posted a tutorial on her website 'Welcome to Cats Whiskers' to show how to make a magic shutter card. Had to have a go, the trick is to get the centre right so that as you open the card the shutters pull back to reveal an image or sentiment in the middle. It took a couple of attempts but Jacqui's instructions were quite clear, my only problem was that my card was too thick and so I struggled to cut the centre hole out and I didn't get it lined up perfectly.

Please go to her blog to get the full instructions - it was good fun to make!

Stamps – LOTV - Love Grows and a sentiment stamp from their set 8 ‘Happy Circular Sentiments’.  The image stamp was coloured with Promarkers. I tried really hard to do the colouring properly following my good fortune to go to one of Jacqui's workshops and get a lesson on using the pens! I chose this image as I felt it suited an older couple remarrying.

Dies – Spellbinders Lacy Circle for the middle sentiment, and classic ovals for the image and front sentiment.  Image is topped by a Memory Box die - Tiffany Frame sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

Background – Red card from my stash matted with one of the Maja Design 12x12 papers from Live and Love Crafts.

Embellishments - String of Pearls from Live and Love Crafts, flowers again sprinkled with Glamour Dust and bling from my stash.

Would definitely have a go at making another one, it is such a nice surprise when you open the card to reveal the hidden gem in the middle! x
