Colour Tiles for notelets with Chapel Road Artstamps

Well we've had some grey old weather lately haven't we, so when given some new stamps from Chapel Road Artstamps to try I thought I'd have a play around with colour!

The stamps I've used here are from a set called 'Two by DaVinci' and are very detailed. I played around with them on some scrap paper before deciding to do some Distress Ink backgrounds to stamp onto and then simply used the tiles to make a set of notelets with cream card.

Each tile was blended with three DIs before stamping with coloured Adirondacks on top.

So on this set I blended with Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint then stamped with Espresso Adirondack.

This set is Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feather and Seedless Preserves DIs and stamped with Adirondack Denim Ink.

And this set is Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry stamped with Wild Plum Adirondack.

So no dies, no flowers just a few colours with some lovely stamps to brighten up a grey day - hope you have a good one!

Well after all those lovely stencils, I felt like gettin’ a bit fussy  for my next project........I’m afraid I do jump around from one style to another. I don’t like to tie myself down lol and I enjoy and respect different styles for different things – how about you?
Anyway 2 more nice things this month, one was a lovely box of treasures I ordered from Live and Love Crafts (LLC), such gorgeousness AND all wrapped up in lovely pink tissue paper for delivery – just makes it feel so special aaaah...............and then Lili of The Valley (LOTV) had a 48 hours sale on some of their stamps so it just HAD to be done eh! Here is one of my little MDF hearts, I’m  getting loved up and ready for Valentines  - ooh steady on lol ! No actually we had some lovely news this week that a sweet young couple we know are getting married – how fab.

So with my brain I was linking things together -  LLC January Challenge is ‘Perfume’ – my favourite perfume is Beautiful by Estee Lauder -  the advert for this perfume was a lovely bride at her wedding – got a LOTV bride stamp and their challenge is ‘Anything Goes’ – Tadaaah!! So it had to be pink as that is the brand’s colouring with a hint of gold, and have roses, lilies and orange blossom as that’s in the perfume.

Memory Box - Thank You

Love making this card - but it did get a bit tricky - lol  - risking life and limb!

The technique is to ink through the stencil, I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac. Make sure this dries properly and then re-attach the stencil (Memory Box Tessatina) and apply Translucent Paste. Remove the stencil and drench in Micro Beads. Now when I say drench, it's a big stencil and unfortunately I didn't quite catch all the ones that didn't stick to the paste. My craft room has a laminate floor so I ended up a bit like Bambi trying to walk on ice until I hoovered - so be warned !

Once thoroughly dry just mat and layer and I then added a Memory Box die - Thank You Extravaganza and a couple of gems on the flowers. If you enlarge the photo you should see the effect of the beads better, which to me suited the tile pattern of the stencil.

Big thank you to all my followers new and old, I hope you are all having a great 2014 so far - did any of you make a happy jar ? I only have 4 notes in mine so far - but that's 4 more things to make me smile that I would probably have forgotten :-) .

Memory Box - Music

Having great fun with this new release from Memory Box - keeps me quiet for hours ! Although this card was done in a flash .....

Very simple, just ink through the stencil (Memory Box - Vines), I used Picked Raspberry, made a little darker with an overlay of Festive Berries in the top corner, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade. Once dry I added the Memory Box die Musicality Collage in black card and a simple sentiment I had already for the Happy Birthday. Note - if you're like me and struggle to gets things straight I find it easier to not worry and to put things on a slant if they're in the middle and then use the edges of the card if I'm adding to the top or bottom.

Thank you for looking x

Memory Box - Butterfly Heart

This die intrigued me - you'll recognise it from an earlier post I did, as basically the die only cuts the butterflies a bit and I ended up cutting a frame around them for the previous ones. So for this one I thought I'd see what happened if you used it in the middle of a piece of card and didn't cut it out.........

Pretty effective I thought and so easy to use, imagine how fab for wedding invites, wedding anniversary, valentines or birthday.........mmm likey !

Memory Box Stencil - it's an 'umbel tag ...

Still playing with the new stencils and dies from Memory Box - having great fun!

This is a simple design using the Honey Comb stencil first with Distress Inks - Aged Mahogany, Crushed Olive, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed. Once dry I inked through the Umbel stencil using Forest Moss DI. The butterflies were cut from the new Kensington Border die and added with a few clear gems, Glamour Dust and pearls.

New Memory Box Stencils and Dies

Been having great fun playing with some of the stencils and dies from the new release from Memory Box. They arrived at Oyster Stamps shop yesterday and I was straight up to have a look!

I made this card by using their Texture Shine stencil and a white paste medium, then showered in 4 different colours of glitter whilst wet. Remember to tape your stencil  on all 4 sides to keep it flat using stencil or masking tape (make sure it's low tack) and swipe your paste on from the top down. Also don't forget to get your stencil and knife into water asap to clean off the paste! Once it's dry you can mat and layer up, I used silver holographic card and white linen, before adding your choice of embellishments. I used Memory Box Delightful Heart Border (twice) and cut into lengths ; their Pinwheel Posie to make the pink rolled rose, a couple of squiggles made from wire, a couple of small blue flowers and then 3 gems in the corner.

This card is simpler, using Memory Box stencil - Frame Love and 4 colours of distress inks (Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry). Again tape down before doing and then just dab the inks on through the stencil shape. The topper was made using Memory Box die Butterfly Heart embellished with tiny gems to match the distress inks.

Finally for today .....

The background was made using Memory Box stencil - Texture Flourish using black gloss paste. Topped with the Butterfly Heart again but this time I cut 3 of the little butterflies out of the topper and had them flying away. The side of the card is embellished with Memory Box die - Kensington Border in black.

Thank you for looking - if you need any more info on the techniques used please leave a comment or pm me on Facebook x

Impression Obsession H1901

On a roll now lol ! Busy time of year so cracking on as best I's one I've made for dearly beloved's birthday tomorrow (yes - last minute or what!).
Loved this stamp from Impression Obsession so much the last time I used it that I just had to use it to make Geoff's birthday card. I've used a blue range of Panpastels to do the moon and matted and layered using some scraps of a piece of 'Caught in Crystal' in blue and silver I made a while back to add some interest to the background. Well the sentiment (which I typed up on the computer) just says it all for me! Hope he likes it :-)

I see the Impression Obsession's new challenge is 'Blue' so I'm entering this in the competition and also the Premium Crafts challenge which is 'Anything Goes',

Well for a while the rain has stopped and we have a glimpse of sunshine so I'm off to the garden for a bit, thanks for looking x

Happy Jar for 2014

2 posts in 1 day!? Don't panic it's not a new year's resolution ! I saw the idea for this on a few posts on FB and thought what a good idea.

You take an empty jar and over the year anything nice that happens you make a little note and put it in your jar, then on 31st December you empty your jar and see what happy things happened to you over the year. Wasn't sure what size jar to use lol, but guess what - something happy happened for me today so there is already a little note in there!

Of course I couldn't have just a plain jar so I've made a tag using Heartfelt Creations Burnished Keys stamp and die - because the wording and the key shapes seemed really appropriate. Coloured with pens and finished with Wink of Stella and a few gems. Why don't you have a go too, we can tend to forget the little nice things that make us smile so here's hoping this will remind me how lucky I am when I hit the potholes in life's road that are bound to come along too. Happy New Year x

Lavinia Challenge #1/2014 - Add Some Glitter

Wahoo! 2014! Good grief - another year gone by...........onwards and upwards, so here we go with the first challenge of the year from Lavinia Stamps - Add Some Glitter. If you haven't tried Lavinia yet then check out their website for some fab inspiration sight..........
I made this by cutting some cream card into squares and then stamping 2nd generation Vintage Photo Distress Ink to make a background before stamping over with different stamps and 1st generation Cranberry Adirondack Ink. Glitter is on each flower (yes really - go in close and you'll see it!) and then each tile is matted onto red card stock before arranging on a 6x6 card.

Stamps used - Background - Fairy Words Tiles - Zen Allium , Wild Flower, Lavender and Group Poppies.

And now for something completely different.................

..........a tag made with lots of dies and the lovely Zentangle Butterfly stamp stamped again in Cranberry Adirondack Ink (love that colour!) . Couldn't manage to cut the antennae out so added some gold coloured wire and pearls to replace them. Glamour Dust sprinkled on the butterfly and flower to complete it.

Stamp used - Zentangle Butterfly

So, I hope you had a great New Year's Eve and may all your dreams and plans for the new year come true. I look forward to seeing your entries for the challenge - don't forget they now accept email entries so you don't need a blog! Just go to the Lavinia Challenge Blog, look up the top for the 'Contact Us' tab and fill it out and attach a picture of your entry - or click here to go straight easy is that :-) - have fun and good luck in the draw to win £40 worth of vouchers to get more stamps! x
