Oyster's April Demo Day

What a fab fun filled day was had on Saturday at Oyster's! The day was non stop from 9am until late afternoon with demo's from 4 of us covering a range of crafting techniques. Martine and I played all day with Martine showing her beautiful flower making and me demonstrating colouring techniques whilst Barbara Gray joined us for the morning and Eileen Godwin for the afternoon both using stencils.

Congratulations to Sue who won the free raffle prize of a £25 voucher and membership of the Oyster Club ! Lucky girl and everyone enjoyed a 10% discount on their purchases for the day. Would highly recommend a visit if you can for the next one which I believe will be in August, keep an eye on their website and Facebook page for more news.

Here's one of my samples that was popular using the Stampendous Ranunculus Field stamp and a Memory Box Stencil called Texture Distress Grid.

I sat and played with some new stamps given to me that morning made by Stampendous which have some beautiful flowers and dies - more news and photos on those later. Thank you to everyone who came and for the super comments people were making to me about my colouring, so very kind. I was asked a few times if I did classes - watch this space we're trying to see if it can be done!

OK - Who Pinched April?

OK - who pinched April? I remember going to Somerset for a few days, I remember having a fantastic family birthday celebration but since going down with a rotten head cold after that it's all gone rather woolly...........still onwards and upwards eh!

Had some lovely news that one of my cards has been accepted for publication in Craft Stamper Magazine (Ready, Set, Stamp Article -August Issue) and then when I got back from Somerset I found out I had been picked as a Guest Designer for their Stamping Contrasts feature on their blog - WOW ! How fab! My mantra 'if you don't have a go you don't know' seems to be working and I really would say to you - just have a go. I craft for fun and while it stays fun I'll keep going - so I try to have a go at different things whenever I can.

Which leads me on to this week and I've been busy prepping for Oyster's Demo Day on Saturday 26th April at their Rochester shop ............

........... where I'll be demoing tips and techniques in colouring that I've learnt over the years. I'm looking forward to working alongside the lovely Martine Smith , Eileen Godwin and Barbara Gray. It should be a fun packed day so hope you can come along !

Lavinia Challenge Blog 4 - Spring Colours

Hi - huge thanks to everyone who entered last month's challenge, loads of smashing entries! Well done to the winner, I know you'll have fun picking out £40 worth of goodies from the Lavinia web shop. Hope you'll all have a go this month where our theme is Spring Colours - remember you don't need to blog, just email your entry in via the link on the website or click here - couldn't be easier!

My two entries for the design team I hope reflect the lovely fresh colours of spring, green, lemon and lilac with a sprinkle of other colours too.

My first one is a tag made with the Lavinia Stamp 'Erin'  and coloured with my pens with just a touch of Glamour Dust on her wings. I am also entering my tag into the Graph'it Colour Challenge - Springtime Pastels .
My second one is a sewing project made with Lavinia digi stamp 'Zen Houses' , such clear images printed onto fabric and then sewn into whatever you wish. Check out my tutorials section - demo 1 and 2 for how to do this simple process and why not have a go at making some spring bunting for your home - see demo 4 for tips and techniques on making the bunting!
Well I'm hoping the cold weather has finally disappeared, so looking forward to some sunshine..........thank you for looking and don't forget to have a go this month at the Lavinia Challenge Blog - Good Luck!
