Taylored Expression - 'Wherever You Go'

Pretty set of stamps from Taylored Expression which also have a matching Die set called Hovering By. Thought I'd do a simple background so just stamped straight onto white linen card to create it ........
............then I stamped the flower twice (to decoupage)  and the large bird once onto separate cardstock which I coloured with my pens and then glossed for further impact. I added a bit of bling to the stamens and it's done!

The stamp set 'Wherever You Go' has 8 stamps in total and the Die set has 4 dies -

Young Will is 4 .........

Wow! Where do the years go? My youngest Grandson is 4 today - and he's a little cracker lol ! He loves to hunt for frogs in my garden when he comes over so couldn't resist making this card for him using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps - Farm Boy and Boy and Frog. Swapped the boy image over as he's still just a wee lad but goes to show the versatility of Jayne's stamp sets in that you can mix and match.

Simply coloured with my pens and Polychromos pencils with a dash of clear lacquer to make the tractor and wellies nice and shiny. Happy Birthday Will !

Heartfelt Creations - Sweet Lullaby Collection

Just a quick post, I've been practising with a new (for me) toy the WRMK Gift Bag Punch Board and here's my first attempt!

Easy to use and very handy, I adjusted the size by doubling the width and using 2 pieces of paper from the Heartfelt Creations new release of papers called Sweet Lullaby. I added some die cuts from the Sweet Lullaby Die and Timeless Amour Die.

Perfect size for these bootees I'd made earlier! Thanks for looking x

Penny Black Poppy - using Gilding Flakes

Thought I'd try out a technique my friend Eileen  Godwin showed me for this one. I've seen loads of these poppy images going around since Eileen used it at one of her workshops. But what I was struggling with was using my gilding flakes - for some reason I'd been having problems using the usual glue with the flakes - don't know why, worked perfectly well before but for some reason my recent results were coming out dull and messy. Eileen posted on her blog how to use Versamark and  an EP that looks white but when you heat it up it goes clear and tacky - I used Stamp N' Bond . As soon as it goes clear you apply the gilding flakes and rub off in the usual way. So much easier - and I wasn't covered in sticky flakes hurrah, why didn't anyone tell me about this product before lol !

I used the Penny Black stamp called Poppy Time, stamped on a separate sheet, coloured and cut out and when stuck to the card I glossed up the flower. The background was made using a Memory Box stencil called Textured Honey Combe.

Today sees the launch of the new Heartfelt Creations Collection - Sweet Lullaby..........

Such pretty pastels colours! I used HCPC 3604 Precious Lullaby Stamp set for both images and HCPC 3605 Sweet Lullaby Sentiments Stamp for the Baby Boy sentiment. Coloured with alcohol pens and Polychromos pencils.
All the papers are from the Sweet Lullaby Paper Pad which includes the little tags you can see on both cards. The flowers were made with the paper using Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur Die.

Lavinia Challenge Blog 5 - Birthday Girl

So - it's May already! Well done to last month's winner Michelle, I know you'll have fun picking out £40 worth of goodies from the Lavinia web shop. Hope you'll all have a go this month where our theme is -

Birthday Girl

- remember you don't have to have a blog if you don't want one, just email your entry in via the link on the website or click here - couldn't be easier.

My entry this month  ......

............sorry, should have warned you that you might want your sunglasses for this one!

I used bright Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade  for the background, simply blended before stamping with the Zen Single Grass stamp and adding some die cut lettering. The topper was made with Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar flicked with water before stamping with Zen Maple Leaf and Zen Grass. The flower was made by stamping Zen Flower 3 in white EP on vellum before cutting up and adding a gem.

Hope you will visit the other members of the design team, they really have made some stunning samples to give you more inspiration and then maybe have a go yourself - go on - you could be a winner too!

Sorry no sewing project as yet this month - April got away from me! Will catch up soon :-) , thank you so much for looking.
