New Baby Card

I was asked to make a special  baby girl card for someone -

Made a nice change to make a frilly and fancy card - always like a bit of variety!  Had this Penny Black Stamp by Mo Manning 'An Angel Among Us' ( also available in digi form called 'Baby Fairy Flora ' ) which I wanted to colour in with my pens for more practice on the Skin and Hair Colouring class I'm doing with Kit and Clowder. Such an adorable image! I made it as an easel card using my Litttle B dies - 'Hearts' and added Poppystamps Die - 'Picket Fence' and Memory Box Die - 'Kensington Branch'. The papers are from Maja Design's Sofiero range which I got from Live and Love Crafts along with the pretty flowers.

I am entering this card into -

Live and Love Crafts Challenge 24 - Summer Garden
Kit and Clowder June Challenge - Shabby Chic
Mo's Challenge Blog - It's a Girls World

Dies available from - Oyster Stamps, Rochester, Kent - Telephone 01634 686823 or Website

PS Yay !! I made Mo's Top 3 with this one.

Tag Group Swap

Another tag swap this month with friends, realised I hadn't blogged my recent ones so here's a group of them I made recently...........

Made using IndigoBlu stamp Antique Songbird with Clarity bugs for the theme 'Wildlife' - about as wild as I could get with hardly any animal stamps !

Made with Designs by Ryn Water Droplets and Tim Holtz Umbrella Man for the theme 'Men' - couldn't get the song 'It's raining Men' out of my head for days!

Made with Lavinia Stamps - Creeping Vine, Jayne Nestorenko - Girls on a Bench, Sheena Douglas - Forget Me Not and Clarity - Lupins. For the theme 'In The Garden'.

Such fun making these and swapping with lovely friends, so exciting when an envelope drops on your doormat once a month to see what loveliness others have created for you in return. The ones sent to me all get displayed on my 'Friendship Wall' in my craft room and I smile every time I look at them.

Thanks for looking I have lots of happy crafty things happening  - another demo day coming up at Oysters soon and I'm booked to do a workshop in October with them on colouring (which is booking up fast !) followed by doing a 2 day retreat for them in November. In August one of my cards is being published in Craft Stamper magazine and I'm doing 2 Guest DTs - one for CS mags blog and one for Whimsy Stamps. My mantra of - if you don't have a go you'll never know - is giving me great fun and keeping me out of mischief - my head is skipping about between summer, Halloween and Christmas !

Steampunk Fairy

I haven't done this style before but I knew the recipient would love it and she thought it was well cool for her birthday card!
Drawing from Capia, available to download from Deviantart website.
I originally saw this drawing on FB coloured by a lady called Saskia Smits - click here to go to her blog ,  and she very kindly listed all the pen colours.  I really loved her colours as they seemed to suit a woodland steampunk fairy - pink,  lilac and glitter would just not have looked right! Luckily my lessons with Kit and Clowder seem to be working and I was pleased with her hair and skin.

I haven't been very active lately as I came down with a nasty bug last week - managed to eat 3 biscuits today so am going to be brave and try a bit of dinner tonight - fingers crossed for me !

Lavinia Challenge 6 - Add some Beads or Gems

Congratulations to Jannine Barrett who won the last challenge with her lovely card sent in by email as she doesn't blog, do hope she enjoys spending her prize of £40 on the Lavinia website and enjoys using her new goodies. It could be YOU this month so why not have a go! The theme is Add some Beads or Gems and here is my idea -

this little beauty is called 'Lady of the Rose Garden' and is a digi design from the website - available here . As I'm still working on my colouring course for my pens it was great to find an image with face and hair I could practice on and I love the roses - very stylised. Something a bit different from my previous Lavinia cards so I hope you like it and that it encourages you to have a go this month.

Thank you for looking, why not check out the other Lavinia DT blogs to see what they have come up with - some absolute stunners out there!
