Crafter's Companion Kimono Range

Day 2 of my sneak peeks ready for the shows on Monday.

I went for a more pastel range of colours with this card using backing papers from the CD and over stamping with a toning Distress Ink (Victorian Velvet).

It's funny the different things we all see when looking at something and although the range has an oriental theme I saw the mannequin die and thought of a dusty attic - you know where they store the unused birdcage and stuff in old movies? So I kept with that and used parchment to make a panel like a vintage lacy net curtain with the blossoms from a tree outside blowing in through the window - lol - scarey what goes on in my head sometimes ! But then that's the point of giving a DT the same thing to see what different versions we can make and this is a versatile range I think for doing that.

So it's Sheena today and tomorrow with her lovely new stamps and then the 4DD from Monday - a busy weekend for crafters then! I'll be recording some as I have a busy day myself today with it being my birthday - hope you have a great weekend too. Back tomorrow with another peek, thank you for looking.

Embossing Folders – Oriental Floral
Dies – Blossom Branch (flowers); Butterfly Fan: Magnola Mannequin; Birdcage
Stamp – Paper Moon
Cardstock –Core’dinations; Parchment; Design 7 from CD; Kraftcard
Colouring – Victorian Velvet Distress Ink; Gilding Wax

Crafter's Companion - Spectrum Noir on Create and Craft 3

Looking forward to Crafter's Companion shows today with images using stamps from Sheena Douglass and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens/pencils. Lots of giveaways to be had so well worth a watch if you can !

This is one made with Sheena's Magnolia stamp set, using Memento black ink and Spectrum Noirs  BP1, 3 and 6 with the leaves in LG3, CG4 and DC3. I coloured some white card to match the flowers in the matting which was useful to keep the colours balanced.

One more blog tomorrow for these shows over Saturday and Sunday, thanks for looking !

Crafter's Companion - Spectrum Noir on Create and Craft 2

Day 2 of the sneak peeks before the Spectrum Noir giveaway shows start tomorrow on Create and Craft.

Great fun making this one as I got the chance to have a go with the eBrush from Crafter's Companion - bit nervous as me and machinery don't usually get on but this was a dream to use!

I just clicked in my SN pens (you can get adaptors for other makes of pens) and created the background colour (having applied a mask for the sun), building up a bit around the edges for some depth. Then I used a stencil to make the flowers, stamped the sentiment and coloured up the butterfly - et voila ! Quite pleased with a first attempt so I used it again on another sample which I'll show you on Sunday.

Here's the details for my sample which I made using -

Sheena's Flying Colours stamp; eBrushed background using Spectrum Noir GB2, moon LY1; Sheena's stencil Wildflowers and GB3; Butterfly coloured with pens CT4, OR3, DR3 and Spectrum Noir pencil 026 for some added depth.

Centura Pearl and White Neenah cardstock,  Collall 3D glue to decoupage.

Hope to see you tomorrow when I'll be showing another sample made using the lovely Sheena Douglass's stamps and Spectrum Noirs products, thank you for looking.

Crafter's Companion - Spectrum Noir on Create and Craft 1

Good afternoon - long time no see eh?! Well I've had a very exciting few weeks since joining the Crafter's Companion team. Busy, busy, busy with this first allocation for me being to use Spectrum Noir Pens / Pencils with some of Sheena Douglass's stamps. The Create and Craft shows are on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th of April and well worth a look as they are offering  £575,000 giveaways - yes you read it right !

I've been lucky enough to see some gorgeous samples from my team mates if you get a chance to watch the shows.

Here's the details for my first sample which I made using -

Sheena's Hibiscus stamp; stamped with Versamark and white EP then coloured with Spectrum Noir pens LY2, LY1, LG1 and LG2; Sheena's Leaf Vein Embossing Folder.

Centura Pearl, Kraft and White Neenah cardstock,  Collall 3D glue to decoupage.

It was great fun playing with the pens, tomorrow I'll show another sneak peek this time of a card I made using the fabulous eBrush from Crafter's Companion. Hope you'll come back for another look then!

A trio of notelets - quick and easy to make and so handy to have to hand when you need something a bit special. Backgrounds blended with Distress Inks - Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn with stamping in Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn with silver embossed fairies. A quick sentiment to finish them off.

A simple card made using a stitched die to break the front up, again blended and stamped with Distress Inks before adding a bit of gold glitter to the flower heads and to balance the gold sentiment.
